Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini was present during Atletico Madrid’s 2-1 win against Malaga as Columbian striker Radamel Falcao scored his eighth goal of the season.

Falcao scored 36 goals last season, and City’s Italian manager has become a firm admirer of the striker.

Manchester United and Chelsea have both been linked with the hitman who is contracted to the Madrid club until 2016, and Mancini has joined the hunt for the prolific striker after Mario Balotelli’s latest strop.

Atletico Madrid chairman, Enrique Cerezo, knows of the interest from the English champions, however is in no rush to sell.

“We know Mancini came to watch, but we are calm on the subject of Falcao,” he told the Mirror.

Falcao on the other hand is open to the idea of one day coming to England.

“England? One day I could go. I used to watch the Premier League as a kid. Players like Roy Keane, Eric Cantona, Zola and Asprilla at Newcastle,” the Columbian said.

The Columbian’s 8 goals this season adds to his tally of 48 goals in 57 for Atletico since arriving from Portuguese club Porto in 2011.
